Ingredients:
- 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 3 large eggs
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 cup semisweet chocolate chips additional, for texture
Instructions:
Make sure the oven is hot 375F/190C and put cupcake liners in a muffin tin
Melt 1 cup of semisweet chocolate chips and butter in a bowl that can go in the microwave
Stir the mixture every 20 seconds until it is smooth and fully melted
Granulated sugar, salt, and vanilla extract should all be mixed into the melted chocolate
Add the eggs one at a time, making sure to mix well after each one
Fold in the cocoa powder until it is just mixed in
For extra texture, add the extra 1/2 cup of semisweet chocolate chips and mix them in
Put the same amount of batter in each cupcake liner
If you stick a toothpick into the middle and it comes out with a few moist crumbs, the cake is done
Let the cupcakes cool in the pan for a few minutes, then move them to a wire rack to cool all the way down
You can serve it plain or with powdered sugar on top
