Easy Baked Beans with Bacon

These easy homemade baked beans with bacon and brown sugar are a classic BBQ side dish. The combination of sweet and savory flavors will make them a hit at your next barbecue or family gathering.

Ingredients:

  • 4 cans 15 oz each navy beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1/2 pound bacon, diced
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1/4 cup molasses
  • 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions:

Preheat your oven to 350F 175C

In a large skillet, cook the diced bacon until crispy

Remove bacon and set aside, leaving the bacon grease in the skillet

Add chopped onion to the skillet and saut until softened

In a bowl, mix together the drained navy beans, sauted onions, crispy bacon, ketchup, brown sugar, molasses, apple cider vinegar, Dijon mustard, garlic powder, salt, and pepper

Transfer the bean mixture to a baking dish and spread it evenly

Bake in the preheated oven for 45-60 minutes or until the beans are hot and the flavors are well combined

Remove from the oven and let it cool slightly before serving
