Ingredients:
- 1 lb ground beef
- 4 hamburger buns
- 4 slices sharp cheddar cheese
- 8 slices cooked bacon
- 1 red onion, thinly sliced
- 2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1/4 cup mayonnaise
- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
- Lettuce leaves
- Tomato slices
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions:
Cook the bacon in a pan over medium heat until it gets crispy
Take it off and let it dry on paper towels
The red onion should be thinly sliced
Add the balsamic vinegar and brown sugar to the same skillet
Keep cooking until the onions turn brown and the mixture gets thick
Take it off the heat
Warm up your grill or pan on the stove by setting it on medium-high heat
Shape the ground beef into 4 burger patties that are all the same size
Add pepper and salt
For medium-rare, grill the burger patties for three to four minutes on each side
You can change the cooking time to suit your tastes
Add a slice of sharp cheddar cheese to each patty to melt in the last minute of cooking
As the burgers are cooking, split the buns in half and toast them briefly on the grill or in a toaster
To make a sauce, mix the mayonnaise and Dijon mustard in a small bowl
Spread the mayo-mustard sauce on the toasted buns to make the burgers
On the bottom bun, put a lettuce leaf
Then, add the cooked burger patty with melted cheddar
Put two cooked bacon slices and a spoonful of the bacon onion balsamic jam on top of each burger
Put the top bun and tomato slices on top
Serve hot
