SMOKY TTLA Vegan Sandwich

The SMOKY TTLA Vegan Sandwich tastes great and is a great plant-based alternative to the traditional BLT. Its great for any meal because it has smoky grilled tofu, crispy vegan bacon, and creamy avocado.

Ingredients:

  • 1 block extra-firm tofu, pressed and sliced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon cumin
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 8 slices whole grain bread
  • 8 slices vegan bacon
  • 4 lettuce leaves
  • 2 tomatoes, sliced
  • 1 avocado, sliced
  • Vegan mayo, for spreading

Instructions:

Preheat your grill or grill pan over medium heat

In a small bowl, mix olive oil, smoked paprika, garlic powder, cumin, salt, and pepper to create a marinade

Coat tofu slices with the marinade

Grill tofu slices for 3-4 minutes on each side until they have grill marks

In the same grill or grill pan, cook vegan bacon according to package instructions until crispy

Toast the bread slices

Spread vegan mayo on one side of each slice of bread

Assemble sandwiches by layering lettuce, tomato, avocado, grilled tofu, and vegan bacon on 4 slices of bread

Top with remaining bread slices, mayo side down

Slice sandwiches in half and serve
